Nearly 1,000 people attended the 13th annual Madera County ArtsFest on Saturday, May 2 from 10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. This annual free community event promoted art in Madera County in a fun and fair-style environment.

Children visited booths and decorated flowerpots and paper bags, drew on tambourines, made necklaces, swirled pool paintings, and created chalk murals. They also made playdough with their parents and enjoyed free snow cones and popcorn.

Mariachi bands from Liberty Charter and Madera Unified performed at the event. Entertaining the community with live music and artistry.

This year 429 students from 37 schools in Madera County from grades TK-12 competed in the art contest. Artwork was displayed beautifully at the art gallery on Saturday where students could show off their art to their family and friends.
