Academic Decathlon

The 44th Annual Madera County Academic Decathlon brought together seven high schools for an exciting 10-event competition centered on this year’s theme, “The Roaring Twenties.” Students demonstrated impressive knowledge, teamwork, and preparation throughout the day, competing across Honor, Scholastic, and Varsity divisions. In the end, Glacier High School Charter claimed the county title and will advance to the California Academic Decathlon. Glacier also won the Super Quiz event held in front of family, friends, and teammates.
Participating schools included Chowchilla Union High School, Glacier High School Charter, Liberty High School, Madera High School, Madera South High School, Matilda Torres High School, and Sherman Thomas Charter High School. A total of 117 medals were awarded, highlighting the outstanding academic achievement and collaboration of students across Madera County.
