Deaf and Hard of Hearing Services
Students with an identified hearing impairment can receive a variety of services ranging from itinerant support in the general education setting with their typically hearing peers to special education classes specifically designed for students who are significantly hard of hearing or deaf.
Specialists provide academic instruction, language development, and classroom accommodations and modifications. The special classes for students who are deaf utilize total communication to enhance language and academic skill development. Services may also provide support with specialized equipment such as hearing aids, auditory trainers, and specific computer software.
